From First Voices’ Welcome page:
“We are an online space for Indigenous communities to share and promote language, oral culture and linguistic history. Language teams work with elders to curate and upload audio recordings, dictionaries, songs and stories. This content is shared with community members or the broader public.”

From his section on Hul’q’umi’num Pronunciation:
“People always ask me to write hul’q’umi’num phonetically so that english speakers can read it and speak it , but that’s just not possible. There are more sounds in Hul’q’umi’num and as such many of those sounds don’t exist in Latin based language.
Sounds like lh or tl’ or tth’, I simply cannot write anything phonetically that can teach these sounds.
So I will endeavour to teach some of the more common words and sounds. But it must be noted that I hold zero qualifications to teach Hul’q’umi’num. All language I use and or teach I’ve learned from personal interaction with people and elders. I am also armed with a dictionary so I know how to spell these words for you. For perfect pronunciation please check out firstvoices.com“
